Growing up I played piano, studied music theory, and listened to a lot of classical music. After many years of playing various instruments through school, I got into DJ’ing after graduating. Mixing my love of music, the piano, Thelonious Monk, and being born with the name Philip, DJ Philonius was born.

In 2017, I decided to start Philonius Records. What started out as a focus on music has developed into a way for me to explore all of my passions. I thought through my interests and so much bubbled up; writing and listening to music, playing various games ranging from computer games to chess, pool, board games, and more, philosophy, practicing yoga and meditation, history, Assyriology, and technology, including systems engineering, software development, and cybersecurity.

Knowing that teaching, sharing, and talking to people only deepens my own learning of these subjects, I thought I’d take the jump to the internet. I got logos done, created the Youtube channels and social profiles, and started sketching out the content I wanted to create. And thus, Philonius Music, Philonius Life, and Philonius Tech were born.
